About: Sylvia Stølan
Born in Trondheim, Norway I Studied Illustration/ Visual Communication at De Hogeschool voor Kunsten, Utrecht, The Netherlands. In June 2007 I received my Bachelor Degree in Visual Communication. I am now working as a freelance illustrator designer.
My work has often got a poetic touch, but also a touch of humor from time
to time.
With a deep fascination for traditional arts & craftsmanship from
different cultures and countries my own work is often colorful and with
a handmade feel to it. My techniques vary and so does the application
of my illustrations. As an example of this is my graduation project where
my illustrations took form on a big lamp/light-installation. To view this

addition to my portfolio I also have a blog where I post a little less formal stuff like happenings, ongoing projects
